If you ever smell gas or think there might be Carbon monoxide escaping you must have it checked.
Who should I contact about a gas or carbon monoxide leak?
You can call Southern Gas Networks on 0800 111 999 – a free service.
Southern Gas will come quickly and will check whether there is a gas escape. They will also assess whether carbon monoxide is likely to be present.
If there is a gas escape, SGN will often do small repairs, but in many cases they will cap off the gas and recommend that you call a Gas Safe registered contractor – such as Taskforce.
In the case of suspected carbon monoxide again the gas will be capped off but SGN will immediately recommend that you use a registered contractor.
Peace of mind
If you would like more reassurance that there is no gas escape in your property, ask us for a ‘Gas Soundness Test’ when we do your service and we’ll do a pressure test from your gas meter, which will find even the smallest escape.
